About Us

Fairseas International was established in 2005 and is a shipping and freight logistics group based in Cape Town. The group operates both locally from South Africa for regional cargoes and internationally through an offshore affiliate Fairseas International (BVI) Ltd.

The core services of Fairseas are focused on bulk and breakbulk seafreight chartering and brokering activities, freight management and logistics and providing consultancy services to cargo interests and parties invested in shipping activities.

Fairseas seeks to provide value by providing cargo interests with efficient and cost effective sea transport and intermodal solutions along the African seaboard and the Indian Ocean rim including the Indian Ocean Island areas. Where appropriate, landside logistics, barging and lightering are dovetailed with seafreight solutions, making for a seamless through service for our clients from contracted point of despatch to delivery. Our extensive experience operating in developing Africa makes providing solutions in difficult areas our speciality. Fairseas is managed by Liam Mckenzie who has over 30 years experience in seafaring, shipping and freight logistics, and has previously occupied senior management positions in port agency operations in South Africa and Mocambique, and in the ship owning, chartering, operating, and freight logistics divisions of the largest South African shipping group.

Fairseas International acquired the SAFWAF MPV (South Africa to West Africa multipurpose service) in February 2016. This liner service continues to offer a 6 weekly frequency for breakbulk and containers calling Durban, Cape Town and Walvis Bay on the Southern African coast, with direct calls at Boma, Matadi, Pointe Noire, Sonils and inducement calls at various ports on route including Port Gentil.
